Thuringian CHORal Treasures

Choral culture meets residential landscape -
June 19 until 21, 2026

In 2026, the Thuringian CHORal Treasures will enter a new round. In June, the palaces and residences of the Treasure Chamber of Thuringia will once again open their magnificent halls and churches for the choir festival, creating a unique historical backdrop. Choirs from all over Thuringia and from other federal states are invited to take part in and contribute to this state-wide cultural event. With this invitation to sing together, the Treasure Chamber of Thuringia is setting an example of commitment, hospitality and solidarity. The voices of numerous singers bring the residence halls, festival halls and palace churches to life. The result is an impressive soundscape that fills the historic rooms. The festival is organized by the Residence Association Treasure Chamber of Thuringia in cooperation with the Chorverband Thüringen e.V.

Impressions of the Thuringian CHORal Treasures 2024

The Thuringian CHORal Treasures took place for the second time in 2024 from June 7 to 9. Numerous Thuringian castles and residences, including Altenburg Residential Castle, Friedenstein Castle in Gotha and Wilhelmsburg Castle in Schmalkalden, were transformed into concert venues in a historic atmosphere. Around 1,000 singers from 43 choirs, including participants from Thuringia, Saxony, Berlin and Trier, filled the halls and churches with their singing.
